Our Mum + Baby Yoga program has been crafted with the intention
to support mums and babies, while promoting
intentional bonding between mother & child.
Solar Lunar's approach is to create sacred spaces for you both,
so that you can grow together. In our containers, we present
yoga techniques with a holistic approach: an immersive experience that fusions different branches of ancestral wisdom + yoga science.

MUM + BABY YOGA
What's included in the program?

This container is an in-person experience.

Held in groups of up to x15 adults and their respective babies
-
Yoga gear + material provided: yoga mats, yoga blocks, baby gear, disinfecting and cleaning items.

This is a 7-week program, giving you access to 7x classes in total for the allocated period of time.

Access to our private Telegram community so that you can connect with other like-minded mothers.

The classes are facilitated by a 500-hour advanced yoga teacher certified in the specialisations of prenatal, postnatal and baby yoga, at schools that are part of the International Yoga Alliance, and with acquired understanding + experience instructing yoga considering the anatomy of a pregnant woman and babies. The yoga program has been designed prioritising safety, offering adapted modifications each pose, guidance to the appropriate use of props, learning the techniques, and somatic integration.

We honour the ancestry and lineages from where these teachings originate from, therefore expect a yoga practice that includes traditional elements. In this sense, our programs are not “Yogalates” or “Fitness” programs.
Bring Your Own

Baby bottle and/or food - it can be ideal for the relaxation time. Bring your cold or warm water from home, as there may not be a kettle or kitchen available at the location.

Anything that you require to nurse your child based on her/his needs (ie. diapers, wipes, drinks, etc).

Dry snacks, fruit & drink bottle with lid (strict no alcohol; please avoid coffee, soft/sparkling drinks. Kindly avoid smelly foods that may make the environment uncomfortable).

Shawl for mum and small blanket for baby, to keep both warm in our lunar practices.

Optional: You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat or any other yoga gear such as cushion or bolster, as we always encourage you to find that extra comfort throughout the class

By joining our Mum + Baby Yoga program, you will learn a variety of exercises and gentle practices that you can integrate into your daily life. These practices will help you support your baby’s overall development safely while also providing comfort for both you & your baby during this important stage of life.

YOGA FLOWS
Each flow session, whether for Mum+Baby, Pregnancy or Post-pregnancy yoga,
is designed according to the class's theme. However, here are some of the techniques that you may learn + experience during our yoga practice:

Vinyāsa and kuṇḍalinī yoga styles originate from Akhaṇḍa Lineage, which roots in the Nath Shiv (Adinath) lineage in the Himalayan foothills of northern India. Luna Shakti truly honours these lineages, yet her art is to combine the ancestral knowledge, with a more scientific approach based in yogic anatomy, and a wide spiritual + mental toolbox.

🐣🐤🐥 Do the Mum+Baby yoga programs consider the different stages of the child’s development?
Yes, definitely - at Solar Lunar, our Mum + Baby Yoga programs have been consciously designed taking into consideration the three major stages of development of the child:

Wiggles & Wonders Yoga (CURRENT): From 3-9 months old (newborn to crawling stage)

Curious Crawlers Yoga (COMING SOON): Babies 9-12 (and up to 15) months old (crawling to walking stage)

Adventurous Toddlers Yoga (COMING SOON): Babies 12-15 months and toddlers up to 3 years old (walking stage)

👨👩👧 Are Solar Lunar baby yoga programs just for mums, or can dads (family members, babysitters etc.) join too?
This program is not just for mums and babies! Although it is usually mums who come along to class, dads, grandparents and carers are welcome too. If you are planning to bring an extra person to join the class alongside you and your baby, make sure to add this on your check out by selecting the “Bub + Family Yoga” program.
Mum & Baby Yoga is for every baby and parent or carer. There’s no need to have experience of yoga, or to be flexible – don’t let social media images of yoga fool you – yoga is an individual practice, that suits any and every body shape and ability, it’s not even about being able to touch your toes, as many students can’t!
Whilst some of our movement practices are specifically focussed on supporting a postnatal body, anyone will benefit from the gentle postnatal practices we teach at Solar Lunar, as well as other techniques such as improvement of posture and ways to carry the baby safely.
All parents and carers will benefit from learning the gentle loving movement of Mum + Baby yoga class, so that they can have more ideas to interact with baby at home, soothe and relax with baby at home and many parents use the songs and rhymes in class for many years as their babies become toddlers and beyond.

🌙☀️ What are all the yoga programs currently available at Solar Lunar?
Our Solar Lunar signature yoga programs have been designed with so much love and care, taking into consideration the needs of all mothers, babies (and companions). Here’s an overview of our current line-up:

Mum + Baby Bliss Yoga: this is our signature Baby Yoga program where usually the mother joins alongside her baby. There will be different groups based on the three major stages of development of the child: newborn to crawling stage, crawling to walking stage, walking stage. This program runs in 7-weeks cycles.

Bub + Family Yoga: this is the very same Baby Yoga program as “Mum + Baby Bliss Yoga” but in this case you are allowed to bring an extra person (father, grandmother, babysitter…). This program runs in 7-weeks cycles.

Blooming Belly Yoga: this is our prenatal yoga program, where we welcome mums to be in the first, second or third trimester of their pregnancy. The classes are mixed with all stages of pregnancy, and the facilitator will accordingly guide each of you to ensure that asanas are carried out safely. The practices are Lunar / Yin, providing mothers the tools and preparing their bodies for a birth that is as safe and as natural as possible. This program runs in 7-weeks cycles.

Mother’s Rebirth Yoga: this is our signature postnatal yoga program aimed for mother’s safe recovery after birth, such as regaining of the core strength. The practices are Solar / Yan, ensuring the right energetic activation and reclamation of power as you shape your new identity as a mother. This program runs for a total of 12-weeks cycle.

Yes, absolutely (and know that you are about to hand out a very precious present that will have a powerful impact on the mum+baby - for life)!
In this sense, we do have gift vouchers available in our store. So when you are selecting the product/program you wish to give away, please make sure that you tick the box of “Make this a gift” at the checkout, so that we can send you via email a pretty gift voucher for you to print out.
Once the lucky person has received the gifted voucher, we kindly ask you to get in touch at solarlunarshaktiyoga@gmail.com with your contact details (name, surname, phone, email, etc.) so that we can start the onboarding process.
Please note that if the program or cohort has already started (remember we generally do run 7-weeks programs), we ask you to kindly wait the period until the next cohort/group begins. Should you want to enter when the cycle has begun, say in week number 4, you will only be able to attend yoga sessions for week 4, 5, 6, 7 (total of 4x classes, missing out on a total of 3x classes). So yes, it is possible to begin when the cycle has started but it would be a pity that you miss out on the entire program, which has been consciously crafted for you and your baby to embark on a journey as a mother.
