Our Prenatal Yoga program has been created to uphold women physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually

throughout pregnancy while nurturing a deeper

connection with child while in your womb.

Solar Lunar's approach is to create sacred spaces for mum + baby,

so that you can grow together. In our containers, we present 

yoga techniques with a holistic approach: an immersive experience that fusions different branches of ancestral wisdom + yoga science.​

PRENATAL YOGA
What's included in the program?

  • This container is an in-person experience.

  • Held in groups of up to x15 pregnant women

  • Yoga gear + material provided:  yoga mats, yoga blocks, disinfecting and cleaning items.

  • This is a 7-week program, giving you access to 7x classes in total for the allocated period of time.

  • Access to our private Telegram community so that you can connect with other like-minded mothers.

  • The classes are facilitated by a 500-hour advanced yoga teacher certified in official specialisations prenatal, postnatal and baby yoga specialisations, at schools that are part of the International Yoga Alliance, and with acquired understanding + experience instructing yoga considering the anatomy of a pregnant woman and babies.   • The yoga program has been designed prioritising safety, offering adapted modifications each pose, guidance to the appropriate use of props, learning the techniques, and somatic integration.

  • We honour the ancestry and lineages from where these teachings originate from, therefore expect a yoga practice that includes traditional elements. In this sense, our programs are not “Yogalates” or “Fitness” programs.

  • Drink bottle with lid: with water, tea or healthy comforting drink (strict no alcohol; please avoid coffee, soft or sparkling drinks). Bring your cold or warm water from home, as there may not be a kettle or kitchen available at the location.

  • Dry snacks, fruit or light meal in food container (strictly avoid smelly foods that may make the environment uncomfortable).

  • Shawl or blanket to keep yourself warm in our lunar practices.

  • Optional: You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat or any other yoga gear such as cushion or bolster, as we always encourage you to find that extra comfort throughout the class.

Pregnancy can be indeed one of the most blissful moments in a woman’s life, yet it can also come with many challenges. During the period of pregnancy + birthing + post pregnancy, mums experience tiredness, health disturbances, deep anatomical changes, emotional fluctuations,... all added to the typical stress of a busy lifestyle.

 

For this, Solar Lunar yoga classes are specialised to directly support you, mother, throughout this journey:

🤰✨🤱 Our 7-week programs are short and sweet, targeted to support your health naturally, and show you the techniques you need to know to make your pregnancy, all the way down to the birth of your child, one that is empowered with decisions.

🌙🧘‍♀️☀️ Our goal is that you walk away of each container with a wide yoga toolbox accessible to maintain health and prepare the body for birth, such as breathing techniques that are profoundly nourishing and bonding while your sun (boy) or your moon (girl) is still in the womb.

🌱🌺🌳 The approach of Solar Lunar is to create sacred spaces for mums and babies where you can grow together, throughout the entire process: from seed to birth. In our containers, we present the yoga techniques with a holistic focus on the ancestral wisdom merged with the anatomical yoga science.

🧘‍♀️✨🐣 After the birth of your child, you can always continue growing with us at Solar Lunar -by engaging in our postnatal recovery program and our baby yoga program.

When you join our Prenatal Yoga program, you will access a “toolbox” of exercises, techniques and gentle practices that you can integrate and adapt in your day to day life as you flow out of the mat. You make the choice to support your baby’s overall development in a safe manner while you take care of your body + mind + spirit. 

This program is perfect for mothers who wish to continue their yoga practice, but doing it in a safe way. Luna Shakti, throughout her career, she has witnessed pregnant ladies being guided (or more so ignored!) by uncertified prenatal yoga teachers to perform dangerous asanas and pranayamas, that should completely be avoided if you are pregnant. 
 

Besides the importance of the know-how of the different stages and the evolution of the anatomical shifts in a pregnant woman, sometimes it only requires a few energetic adjustments, proper alignment, execution of safe physical postures + breathing techniques, and making use of the variations and props that can be added. 
 

All of this, will completely transform the yoga practice into a gentle one, so that you can actually step into benefits that a prenatal yoga practice can provide, while minimising the risk of injury, miscarriage, unwanted hormonal shifts, issues with sleep and rest, etc. 

And YES! In each 7-week cycle of the duration of each program, you not only prepare your body for delivery, but you also take a conscious step into maintaining fitness, results that will most definitely be welcome afterbirth.

YOGA FLOWS

Each flow session, whether for Mum+Baby, Pregnancy or Post-pregnancy yoga,

is designed according to the class's theme. However, here are some of the techniques that you may learn + experience during our yoga practice:

  • Vinyāsa and kuṇḍalinī yoga styles originate from Akhaṇḍa Lineage, which roots in the Nath Shiv (Adinath) lineage in the Himalayan foothills of northern India. Luna Shakti truly honours these lineages, yet her art is to combine the ancestral knowledge, with a more scientific approach based in yogic anatomy, and a wide spiritual + mental toolbox

  • Physical postures (āsanas)

  • Breathe control (prāṇāyāma)

  • Energy regulation (kuṇḍalinī)

  • Meditation techniques (dhyāna)

  • Sound frequency (432 Hz + Sanskrit)

  • Chants (mananāt trāyatē iti mantrah)

  • Specific exercises to support babies at each stage of development (including Linguistic, Logical-mathematical, Bodily-kinesthetic, Musical, Spacial, Interpersonal & Intrapersonal skills)

  • Self-reflection philosophical references (yama, niyama, sūtra,...) adapted for the modern woman

  • Elements of the tropical zodiac western Astrology using the evolutive lenses​

  • āyurveda yoga practices

Yes, definitely - at Solar Lunar, our Prenatal Yoga program has been consciously designed taking into consideration the three major stages of pregnancy:​

  • 1st Trimester

  • 2nd Trimester

  • 3rd Trimester

​All prenatal classes welcome pregnant women from any trimester. You will disclose this information at the enrolment stage, so that the prenatal yoga facilitator can guide you safely according to your stage. Please note that if the program or cohort has already started (remember we generally do run 7-weeks programs), we ask you to kindly wait the period until the next cohort/group begins. Should you want to enter when the cycle has begun, say in week number 4, you will only be able to attend yoga sessions for week 4, 5, 6, 7 (total of 4x classes, missing out on a total of 3x classes). So yes, it is possible to begin when the cycle has started but it would be a pity that you miss out on the entire program, which has been consciously crafted for you and your baby to embark on a journey as a mother.
